Free IT & telecoms EXPO 2011 only days away

Businesses from across the Yorkshire & Humber region are encouraged to attend the second annual IT & Telecoms EXPO being held on Thursday 13th October 2011 at the Royal Armouries in Leeds. The free to attend event will have over 40 IT and Telecoms businesses from the region showcasing their products and solutions.

This year the EXPO - organised by the Yorkshire & Humber region’s only IT & Telecoms B2B network techmesh - will incorporate some exciting new areas, including the Techpanel, which will provide visitors to the EXPO with an opportunity to quiz seven industry leaders about hot topics and issues. There will also be an Interactive Zone, where companies will be demonstrating their products, and visitors will be able to watch, listen and play with some of the latest technologies.

As last year, there will also be a topical seminar programme with industry leaders providing updates and insights on the future of IT and Telecoms, explaining what it means for businesses today. James Akrigg, Head of Technology for Partners at Microsoft, will be the keynote speaker on the day, with presenters including techmesh gold sponsors Agenci and KC Business.  Ajaz Ahmed, entrepreneur and founder of Freeserve and more recently www.legal365.com will also be speaking.

Hiley Engineering Hand Krafted conveyor system....

Leading Yorkshire based engineering firm Hiley Engineering Ltd has secured a contract, in excess of half a million dollars, to design and supply a large scale bespoke conveyor system to Saudi Arabia for food production giant Kraft Foods.  The project is proving to be another exciting overseas development for the company, building on their recent Russian contract.
Although the export market has always been a key element of the company’s business strategy, notably the North and South American markets - this is their first undertaking in Saudi Arabia.  Whilst the project has thrown up a number of design and logistical challenges – these have been swiftly surmounted as a result of recent investments in cutting edge computer aided design technologies, allied to a single point of management project responsibility.
Mark Hiley, the company’s managing director, stated

The system has been manufactured and assembled for the factory acceptance test, which was recently successfully completed.  The conveyor system will now be shipped to Saudi Arabia where, on arrival, it will be installed and commissioned under the supervision of Hiley Engineering.
