VO4HOME launches ‘green’ schools competition in Sheffield

South Yorkshire based VO4HOME, or Voltage Optimisation 4 Home, developers of the new energy saving, carbon reducing solution for the home, has launched a ‘green’ schools competition for all the primary schools in the Sheffield area.

The competition will give schools the chance to name the VO4HOME ‘cow mascot’ and win £250 by detailing how they are actively encouraging ‘cleaner and greener’ activities within the school.

The innovative VO4HOME solution allows households to reduce their carbon footprint by an average of 330-500lbs every year, and save on average, between £90 and £150 per annum on electricity bills, as well as preventing wear and tear on household appliances.

VO4HOME is keen to allow Sheffield’s primary school children to understand the importance of environmental sustainability and the beneficial effects VO4HOME will have on reducing the carbon footprint of homes across the city.

To enter, schools are required to detail, in the format of their choice, how they will spend the £250 prize to further improve their carbon footprint, as well as suggesting a name for the ‘cow mascot’ and an explanation as to how and why the name was chosen.

The deadline for entries is 12th January 2011, with the winning school being announced on the 14th January 2011.
